History
For more than 100 years, Timnath, located on Larimer County’s eastern border, has catered to the talents, interests, and needs of its diverse student population. Opened in 1900, Timnath educated kindergarten through 12th-grade students until 1960, served as a junior high school from 1962 to 1973, and became an elementary school in 1974. The campus was most recently remodeled in 2002.

Learning culture
Timnath has long been a community center for school and civic events. You will find a caring community of staff, students and neighbors at Timnath!

Timnath’s learning experience includes a thread of character traits as a complement to the academic curriculum. All staff members teach and reinforce character education traits in classrooms and through daily interactions with students.

Academic environment
PSD’s rigorous standards-based curriculum forms the basis for Timnath’s academic program. A full range of programs and services is available for students. Experienced teachers for art, music, physical education, and media and technology share responsibilities with classroom teachers.

Instructional & enrichment programs
Enrichment and advancement opportunities are addressed through a variety of formats. Awards assemblies celebrate students’ accomplishments for academic achievements, positive character traits, athletic success, student leadership accomplishments, and success in the performing arts.

After-school enrichment activities include chess club, Lego Robotics, and Odyssey of the Mind.

Opportunities for parents
We encourage parents to maintain our Timnath traditions by helping with the back-to-school ice cream social, Thanksgiving luncheon, silent auction, and winter carnival. Many parents volunteer in classrooms and provide additional student enrichment opportunities.

Partnerships with the Timnath business community provide mutual benefits each year for school traditions, especially the Main Street Gallery Art Show.
