Mrs. Rutherford’s mother, growing up, was a teacher, so Mrs. Rutherford did think about choosing a career in teaching off and on.
Before college, Mrs. Rutherford fell in love with Spanish and made up her mind to teach it.
Tobey Bassoff has been selected as Poudre School District’s Assistant Superintendent for Area C, which serves the Rocky Mountain and Wellington Middle High School feeders and supports the Early Childhood and Professional Learning and Educator Effectiveness departments, effective July 1, 2026. Bassoff brings more than 25 years of experience in public education and a deep commitment to strengthening instruction and developing school leaders.
Poudre School District is excited to announce that Kathy Sampson has been selected as the next principal of Lincoln Middle School, beginning in the 2026-27 school year. Sampson brings nearly two decades of experience in education and a deep personal connection to Lincoln, having served as its assistant principal and previously as a math teacher.
Poudre School District is excited to announce that Bridget Garcia has been selected as the next principal of Irish Elementary Escuela Bilingüe beginning in the 2026-2027 school year. Garcia brings more than a decade of experience in education and is eager to build a strong relationship with her students and staff in and out of the classroom.

Marietta brings experience in education both locally and outside Colorado and aims to provide a positive learning space for all students.
