Poudre School District is excited to announce that Bridget Garcia has been selected as the next principal of Irish Elementary Escuela Bilingüe beginning in the 2026-2027 school year. Garcia brings more than a decade of experience in education and is eager to build a strong relationship with her students and staff in and out of the classroom.
Garcia, who has lived in Northern Colorado her whole life, holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University and a master’s degree in Teaching Diverse Learners from the University of Northern Colorado, along with a principal licensure.
During her time in education, she has served as a teacher, reading specialist, and assistant principal, with the majority of her experience focused on dual language education. Bilingual in English and Spanish, she is passionate about creating equitable systems that ensure all students feel seen, supported, and successful. Throughout her career, she has led work in attendance, behavior systems, and instructional improvement, with a strong focus on building positive school culture and high expectations for all students.
Stepping into this role at Irish, she is looking forward to building strong relationships with students, staff, and families and working together to create a positive, inclusive school community. She is especially excited to support a learning environment where language, identity, and academic growth are all valued and where students have opportunities to learn and thrive in more than one language. She is eager to continue strengthening systems that support both student success and a strong school culture, where all students feel a sense of belonging and are supported to grow academically and socially.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son, watching movies, playing games, and visiting their family farm.
