School Closures Wednesday, Dec. 17 Due to Power Concerns

As a precaution due to the possibility of a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) by Xcel Energy, Bethke Elementary, Timnath Elementary, and Timnath Middle-High School will be closed Dec. 17. All athletics and activities at these schools are also canceled Wed., Dec. 17. This decision was made to ensure we do not need to dismiss students during the school day if power is shut off for an extended period.

These closures are in addition to the previously announced closures of Red Feather Lakes Elementary, Stove Prairie Elementary, and Livermore Elementary, which will be closed due to unsafe transportation conditions caused by high winds.

What families and staff should know:

  • Bethke Elementary, Timnath Elementary, and Timnath Middle-High School will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 17.
    • Biometric screenings scheduled to take place at Bethke Elementary tomorrow are canceled.

  • Red Feather Lakes, Stove Prairie, and Livermore elementaries will also be closed.

  • All other schools are scheduled to remain open with regular hours at this time.

  • We continue to actively monitor weather conditions and information from Xcel Energy and local partners.

  • If additional schools are impacted, families and staff will receive updates with clear next steps.

We recognize the disruption that closures can cause and appreciate your patience as we make decisions with the safety and well-being of students and staff as our top priority.
