The Poudre School District Board of Education voted Tuesday to approve changes to the Bamford Elementary School feeder pattern starting in 2025-26. Students who live in Bamford’s attendance area will be impacted as follows based on the grade they’ll enter next year:
- Grades 6-10: Will attend Preston Middle School and Fossil Ridge High School. There are two exceptions:
- Students who currently attend a school that is not their neighborhood school through school of choice or who accept a 2025-26 school choice offer to attend a school other than their neighborhood school can continue to attend those schools.
- Students who currently attend TMHS (or would like to start sixth grade there next year AND they will have an older sibling at TMHS next year) can submit an Intent to Enroll form for 2025-26. PSD will not provide transportation to TMHS for these students.
- Grades 11-12: Will remain at Timnath Middle-High (if that’s the school they currently attend, and they don’t plan to choice into another school next year) through graduation. PSD will provide transportation to TMHS for these students.
More information about Intent to Enroll forms will be coming in the next few weeks. The forms will only be available for the 2025-26 school year. Those who fill out the Intent to Enroll forms for 2025-26 can remain at TMHS through graduation, unless they move or decide to change schools.
This change was made after much consideration, and there are benefits for all students and schools involved. Enrollment is booming in PSD schools east of Interstate 25, while declining in other parts of the district.
This change will provide needed relief to Timnath Middle-High School, which is anticipated to continue growing and will exceed the national standard for capacity next year without this change, according to projections. Meanwhile, Preston and Fossil have more room for students and will be better able to maintain high quality programming with more students coming in.
In addition, TMHS students who are in the ILS program have the option of staying at TMHS with PSD transportation provided. Bamford students in the Center-Based Autism program will attend the appropriate middle and high school programs that best meet their needs as determined by their IEP teams.
