Angel Herrick Announced as New Principal of Mountain Schools

Poudre School District is excited to announce that Angel Herrick has been selected as the next principal of PSD’s three mountain schools — Red Feather Lakes, Livermore, and Stove Prairie — beginning in the 2026-2027 school year. Mrs. Herrick brings more than two decades of experience at PSD to the position and is eager to deepen her connections to the unique mountain communities.

Herrick earned her bachelor’s degree in English education and her master’s degree in elementary education, both at Colorado State University. She began her career with PSD as an eighth-grade language arts teacher at Boltz Middle School, later teaching at both Lesher and Kinard middle schools. In 2014, she moved into administration, serving first as a dean at Kinard before becoming assistant principal at Lesher, and later at Timnath Elementary School. After discovering a passion for elementary education, Herrick became principal of Zach Elementary in 2022, a role she still holds.

As principal of the mountain schools, Herrick is committed to fostering a strong culture of connection. She looks forward to collaborating closely with staff and each unique school community to make shared decisions that positively impact students and school culture. She is eager to build relationships with every student, staff member, and family.

“Principal Herrick is a passionate leader who brings many years of leadership and instructional expertise to the mountain school community,” Assistant Superintendent Dr. Julie Chaplain said. “She will build upon the inclusive cultures at each of the sites while ensuring strong support for all students.”

Please join us in welcoming Angel Herrick as she prepares to lead PSD’s mountain schools into their next chapter.
