Poudre School District is excited to announce that Deon Davis has been selected as the next principal of Bethke Elementary School beginning in the 2026-2027 school year. Davis is excited to return to PSD after more than a decade away, and he is committed to partnering with staff, students, and families to ensure Bethke continues to thrive.
Davis, originally from Southern California, earned his Bachelor's degree in psychology from California State University and his Master's degree and principal licensure from Chapman University. He served as an elementary school teacher and assistant principal in California before moving to Fort Collins in 2007. His tenure at PSD includes teaching at Beattie Elementary and serving as assistant principal at Lopez Elementary. He was hired as the principal of Coyote Ridge Elementary School in the neighboring Thompson School District, where he has worked for the past 12 years.
Throughout his career, Davis has focused on building strong school cultures rooted in collaboration, high expectations, student agency, and meaningful relationships. He believes that when educators and families work together with a shared purpose and create collective efficacy, students flourish both academically and socially.
"I am most looking forward to joining the exceptional team at Bethke and building the trusting relationships that are the foundation of a great school,” Davis said. “Bethke has a long-standing reputation for high achievement and a vibrant community spirit; I am excited to partner with our staff and families to honor those traditions while ensuring every student has the support, sense of belonging, and challenge they need to reach their full potential."
Please join us in welcoming Deon Davis as he prepares to lead Bethke Elementary into its next chapter.
