Over the past several weeks, I’ve shared information about enrollment trends and the work of our Comprehensive Planning Committee. I want to continue that commitment to open and honest communication by sharing an update about the budget challenges Poudre School District is facing as we plan for the 2026–27 school year.
Poudre School District is pleased to announce that Alison Ferguson has been selected as the next principal of Johnson Elementary School beginning in the 2026-2027 school year. Mrs. Ferguson brings more than a decade of administrative experience to the position with a focus on making all children feel welcome.
Poudre School District is excited to announce that Angel Herrick has been selected as the next principal of PSD’s three mountain schools — Red Feather Lakes, Livermore, and Stove Prairie — beginning in the 2026-2027 school year. Mrs. Herrick brings more than two decades of experience at PSD to the position and is eager to deepen her connections to the unique mountain communities.
Students across the district are constantly expressing themselves through breathtaking artwork and soul-touching pieces of writing, some of which were recognized at the state level this year.
PSD students earned 25 state-level 2026 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards through the Colorado Art Awards this year, across individual achievements and portfolios. These include:
