Cheryl Albaugh
EAS Specialist, CEAP
Cheryl joined EAS in 1999 after working in the Fort Collins non-profit community for many years. She manages the primary operations of EAS, ensuring compliance with PSD's Mental Health and Substance Use benefit plan, maintaining client confidentiality, and protecting personal health information, which is a cornerstone of EAS. In 2017, Cheryl was awarded the well-deserved distinction of Classified Employee of the Year at PSD.
Sam Cuff
EAS Administrative Office Assistant
Sam earned her English Composite degree from Brigham Young University-Idaho and, upon gradutation, became a middle school English teacher for three years. Sam left teaching to work in the private sector in the Denver Metro area, with an emphasis on office and administrative support. After moving to Fort Collins in 2021, Sam felt it was time to return to the world of public education and began searching for opportunities to support educators. Sam loves opportunities that allow her to support others and always wants to help in any way she can. Sam is the newest addition to EAS, starting April of 2024.
Barb Fisher, PhD, LMFT
EAS Manager and Counselor
Prior to joining EAS, Barb was the Co-Director of the Rocky Mountain Marriage and Family Center in Fort Collins, Colorado. In that capacity, she supervised therapists, worked with individuals, couples and families and provided an Employee Assistance Program for a local company. She has been a Professor of graduate education at Colorado State and Purdue Universities and served on the national and state boards of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and the Commission on Accreditation of Marriage and Family Therapy. At PSD, Barb is part of the Employee Health and Wellness (EH&W) team that diligently focuses on providing integrated care for the physical and mental health of employees and their family members. Barb has 25 years of experience in the field of employee assistance programs and joined PSD in 2015. Barb works with adolescents, adults, couples and families from a systemic, solution focused, cognitive-behavioral perspective. In addition, she is a certified EMDR practitioner.
Kathy Forrest, LPC, CAS
EAS Counselor
Kathy is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Addictions Specialist with over 30 years of experience providing behavioral health services in Colorado. Kathy has devoted much of her career to community mental health as a therapist, and eventually as a director. She loves working with clients from all backgrounds and has supported clients struggling with stress, anxiety, grief, substance use and depressive symptoms, as well as crisis situations. Kathy utilizes evidence-based practices such as Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, and other strategies that help us be our best selves in the 8 Dimensions of Wellness (Emotional, Occupational, Spiritual, Intellectual, Physical, Environmental, Financial, and Social). Kathy's approach to counseling is one of respect, compassion, encouragement, and problem-solving in the context of a person's culture, relationships and the constant change all around us. Kathy believes that life presents all of us with challenges at times that we must navigate so we can find the joy and meaning we seek.
Renee Gilkey, PsyD, LP
EAS Counselor
Renee is a Licensed Psychologist who Joined the EAS Team in January 2022 after 12 years working in university counseling centers. Most recently, she served as the Associate Director and Training Director at the University of Northern Colorado Counseling Center. In this role, Renee provided clinical services to college students and faculty and staff through the University’s Employee Assistance Program, coordinated and provided trainings and clinical supervision to graduate students, and managed daily operations of the center. Renee is passionate about helping others and approaches therapy through a relational, multicultural and integrative lens, utilizing evidence-based approaches to assist clients in creating lasting change. She is an EMDR practitioner and has experience in working with relational concerns, anxiety, depression, identity-related issues, eating disorders, substance use issues, work and career-related concerns, women’s issues, grief and loss and trauma-focused work. Renee wholeheartedly seeks to connect and create collaborative working relationships with clients, meeting them where they are at, with compassion, empathy, and genuineness.
Corie Helms, LCSW, CAS
EAS Counselor
Corie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with almost 20 years of experience in the field. Corie has been Clinical Director of Outpatient Programs and Behavioral Health Supervisor at two large behavioral health facilities in Northern Colorado for the last several years. Previous work has included crisis assessment and intervention, field placement work and supervision with CSU students, adoption home studies, work with survivors of domestic violence and providing prevention education. Corie's therapeutic approach is to create a non-judgmental, collaborative, and empowering space to treat the whole person - mind, body, and spirit. Corie utilizes a variety of therapeutic techniques, including Person-Centered, Solution-Focused, Narrative Therapy, CBT, DBT, and EMDR.
