Update from the PSD Comprehensive Planning Committee
Dear PSD Community,
Dear PSD Community,
For a fourth straight year, Nikhil Ganta has been named the champion of the Poudre School District Spelling Bee. Ganta, now a sixth-grade student at Kinard Core Knowledge Middle School, won the 2026 title after correctly spelling “panacea” during the competition held at the Johannsen Support Services Center Jan. 23.
All PSD non-charter school buildings will operate on a 2-hour delay Monday, Jan. 26, due to forecasted cold temperatures. Remote learning will not take place. Schools will dismiss at the regular time unless families are notified otherwise. Lunch service will continue as scheduled.
Student achievement is always a focus for the Poudre School District community, and that dedication to success is again evident in the class of 2025’s record high 89% graduation rate; this marks the second consecutive year of record high graduate rates.
Across the country—and across the political spectrum—public education is the subject of strong opinions and big questions. What should students be learning, or not learning, in school? Are districts preparing young people for a world that doesn’t exist anymore? Are expectations for students too high or too low—and unmet? Is the only way to exercise school choice to opt out of the public school system entirely?
Dear PSD Community,
In Poudre School District, we believe our community deserves clear and honest communication about the forces shaping our schools. I want to share information that provides context about current enrollment trends and what they mean for our school district community.
More info is available on the district's new Enrollment Trends website.
You can now view and submit feedback on proposed changes to PSD District Policies! If you'd like to submit your feedback, you must do so by the end of the day on Monday, January 19.
