Dear PSD Families:
I’m sure many of you have heard by now about Wednesday morning’s shooting of two administrators at East High School in Denver. We wish both staff members a full recovery from their injuries, both mental and physical, and stand in solidarity with East and the Denver Public Schools community as they process this tragedy.
Dear Poudre School District community,
Our team recently completed the district’s annual monitoring report. Think of it like PSD’s report card – more than 100 pages that show how we’re doing around our priorities of literacy, graduation with options, and mental health and belonging.
These final months of the school year are a busy time, filled with performances, competitions, parent-teacher conferences, and more. We hope everyone has opportunities to rest and recharge during spring break (March 13-17).
From guest readers in classes to readathons and book exchanges, Read Across America Day in Poudre School District was a non-stop celebration of all things literacy.
Read Across America Day, observed on March 2 every year, is an opportunity to promote a love for reading while recognizing literacy as an important building block for lifelong learning. Many schools throughout PSD celebrated reading not only on this special day but all week long!
PSD is working with the state health department to ensure drinking water is healthy or made safer for students and staff by testing it for lead and reducing levels if they are too high.

Dear Poudre School District community,
Although the image of Bambi and his mom in the woods at the center of her round pendant necklace has slowly started to fade from time and daily wear, its meaning is no less vivid to Kim Granger, the health services coordinator for Poudre School District. This necklace, kept close to her heart, acts as a reminder of not being afraid to ask for help, to tell one’s story even when it becomes difficult, and to build resiliency.
