Academic Excellence
Our passion for teaching and learning is evident in the success of our students:

  • Students perform 4-18% higher than students statewide – in all subjects, at all grade levels – on the 2011 Colorado Student Assessment Program (CSAP) tests!
  • Students consistently perform higher than students statewide and nationwide on ACT and SAT exams!
  • In 2010, graduates earned approximately $40 million in academic scholarships!

Outstanding Educational Choices
In the state of Colorado, parents have the option of school choice, meaning they can choose to send their child to a school outside their local attendance area (as determined by residence). School choice is based on space availability. Nearly 70% of PSD families choose to send their children to their neighborhood school, the school located in the attendance area in which they live. PSD’s neighborhood schools, standards-driven curriculum, accelerated options, and numerous programs challenge all students to achieve at high levels. All curriculum is aligned to the Colorado Academic Standards.

Space permitting, families may choose to send their child to a neighborhood or specialty school located outside their attendance area. School Choice options include:

  • International Baccalaureate
  • Advanced Placement (AP) & Pre-Advanced Placement
  • Core Knowledge
  • Bilingual Immersion
  • Expeditionary Learning
  • Arts & Technology
  • Gifted & Talented
  • Science
  • Online Instruction
  • Project-based Learning
  • Academics, Character & Wellness
  • Science, Technology, Math & Engineering
  • Preschool and Early Childhood
