More than 450 freshmen at Fort Collins High School recently received laptop computers to use in the classroom and at home.
The FCHS freshmen are the second group of 2,050 freshmen in Poudre School District to receive laptop computers, as part of the district's efforts to equip students with 21st century skills. The laptops, funded by mill and bond dollar approved by voters in fall 2010, will be checked out to students for the next four years.
Freshmen at Poudre High School were the first to receive their computers in September.
Rocky Mountain High School and Fossil Ridge High School freshmen will receive their laptops later in the school year.
More information about the technology rollout is available in the online PSD article about how laptops will engage students in learning opportunities.
