The District’s property insurance provides coverage for loss or damage arising from a single happening and only covers property owned by the District*. Risk Management will determine coverage of a property loss using the standards of the property insurance policy. If the loss is covered by the District’s property policy, Risk Management will accept the claim, pay the loss and if the loss exceeds the deductible, submit the claim to the insurance carrier.
The District's property insurance generally does not cover the following types of losses:
- Damage to or theft of personal autos on school property
Unless the loss is specifically caused by Poudre School District, auto damage claims should be submitted to your auto insurance carrier.
- Personal property stolen or damaged at work*
Unless an employee brings a personal item to work for a work-related or instructional purpose with the approval of the site administrator loss or damage to personal property is not covered. The personal property of students is not covered.
- Items that simply can’t be found anywhere
