The Poudre School District Board of Education voted Tuesday, Dec. 10, to approve the district calendar for next school year. The 2025-26 calendar is modeled after the current school year calendar with:
- Transition days for grades 6 and 9 on Aug. 13
- The first day of school on Aug. 14
- Fall break Nov. 24-28
- Winter break Dec. 22-Jan. 5
- Spring break March 16-20
- The last day of school on May 27
The staff calendar will be finalized and shared as soon as possible.
Calendar Committee and Considerations
A Calendar Committee composed of district staff and parents/guardians must follow state laws regarding finances and instructional time and weigh many competing interests when developing calendar options to present to the Board of Education. Factors that must be considered include schools being in session a minimum number of days per year, competition schedules, graduation dates, alignment with other Colorado school districts and institutions of higher education in our region, potential weather/temperature impacts, employee agreements, and more.
