The third annual Canvas Community Classic will feature two new teams making their Canvas Stadium debut on Friday, Sept. 27, at Colorado State University.
This year’s doubleheader will kick off with a showdown between Timnath and Wellington Middle-High schools. Both PSD schools opened in 2022, and this is their first year with students in every high school grade.
Timnath and Wellington Middle-High Schools will make their first-ever appearance in the doubleheader, with the Cubs and the Eagles squaring off at 4:30 p.m.
Kickoff between Poudre and Rocky Mountain High Schools' football teams will be at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are free for PSD students and staff and $15 for non-PSD-staff adults. Purchase tickets at the CSU Ticket Office.
In 2022 and 2023, the Canvas Community Classic brought together Poudre School District’s four comprehensive high schools (Fort Collins, Fossil Ridge, Poudre, and Rocky Mountain) for back-to-back football matchups between cross-town rivals at Colorado State University’s Canvas Stadium.
The Canvas Community Classic lineup will rotate between four of PSD's six comprehensive high schools each year.
Although the Fort Collins and Fossil Ridge High School football teams will not compete at Canvas this year, they will face off at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26, at the PSD Stadium (west field) at Timnath Middle-High School, 4700 E. Prospect Rd.
PSD is thankful to CSU for hosting four of our football teams and fans from across the district each fall. As leading educational institutions in the community, PSD and CSU have a decades-long legacy of collaborative programming that successfully prepares students for academic, social and personal success.
Between the two institutions, there are an estimated 65 programs available to students, family and staff. They range from CSU campus visits for PSD sixth and seventh graders to hosting PSD Day at CSU women's basketball event. CSU has also donated tens of thousands of dollars to PSD classrooms over the years.
