Gifted & Talented FAQ

Does Poudre School District have a gifted and talented program?

A: Yes! The PSD Gifted Program is embedded in every school in the district. Each school has a Gifted Site Coordinator, an on-site staff member who manages GT students’ Advanced Learning Plans and acts as the hub for programming and parent communication. Because PSD is a site-based district, each school’s gifted program looks a little different. You can compare gifted offerings here by looking at Gifted Services by School. You will also find email links to all 50+ Gifted Site Coordinators, if you have questions.

How are students in PSD identified as gifted and talented? What is the process?

Students are identified as gifted in PSD through one of three pathways: grade 3-8 screening, the referral process, or transferring into this district with a portable gifted identification from a previous school district. The screening and referral pathways are described in more detail on the Identifying Gifted and Talented Students webpage. Please refer to the GT Transfer Students webpage for more detail about the transfer pathway.
