Purpose
The Poudre School District Grants Office supports PSD staff in finding and obtaining funds for projects that forward school district and school site objectives. The Grants Coordinator supports the grant development and proposal writing process in PSD with the following services:
Proposal Writing
For larger projects and those that impact multiple district departments or school sites, the Grants Coordinator works with staff to write proposals. These proposals often involve federal or state funding and require the approval of PSD administration. The District’s Internal Grant Process guides decisions about pursuing these opportunities.
Technical Assistance
The office provides technical assistance to school and department grant writers including: helping writers find appropriate sources for applications, communicating with funding sources to improve chances of getting funded, reviewing proposals for clarity, helping to organize proposals, compiling necessary demographic information, obtaining authorized signatures, examining personnel policies, helping with budget planning and organization, and helping with the development of evaluation designs.
Communication and Collaboration Linkages
The Grants Office serves as a communication link within the district and among partners working on grant proposals. Communication is also necessary in order to inform the Board of Education and the superintendent about large proposals and their implications for the district as to coordinate appropriate channels of approval. In addition, the Grants Office facilitates partnerships with other community agencies, acting as a link within the district and among partners. Communication and collaboration increase possibilities for partnerships and guard against unnecessary duplication.
